London, 15th September 2020 – Flying the banner for the UK insurtech sector, ThingCo has been selected by the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) in San Francisco, as one of just ten UK insurtechs to attend the 2020 Virtual InsurTech Mission to San Francisco 16-18th September 2020.
ThingCo, the insurtech launched by Mike Brockman to develop next generation telematics, will share its expertise in deploying AI driven voice in real-time, through Theo, its telematics device, with US regulators, Venture Capitalists, and industry players. At the same time, the business will gain insight into overcoming barriers to doing business in the US and have an opportunity to attend the InsureTech Connect ITC Global virtual conference.
ThingCo has built a state-of-the-art, fully encrypted, telematics platform using the latest Amazon Web Services IoT serverless technology while ThingCo devices take telematics to the next level. This means the business can offer the technology and data processing power to meet the individual needs of insurance providers globally.
Jonathon Valentine, ThingCo’s CTO said: “It is hugely gratifying to be picked for this mission by the DIT, particularly given the burgeoning number of UK insurtechs. It gives ThingCo a fantastic opportunity to connect with US investors, carriers and regulators to show them just how far we have been able to develop telematics in the UK, the inroads we are making into China and explore opportunities to develop the business stateside. Initiatives such as this are vital to ensuring businesses like us that are challenging and reimagining the insurance proposition, get the exposure we need, and put the UK firmly on the map as one of the world’s prime insurtech innovation hubs.”
