LV=GI has announced the first three contractors to achieve its Green Heart Standard status.
The standard was launched in January as part of the company’s ongoing commitment towards sustainable and ethical practices.
It has now announced that The Forshaw Group, Spain Building and Gelder Group have become the first three companies in its supply chain to secure Green Heart Standard status.
Each has successfully demonstrated its green credentials across the new principles of: reducing environmental impact; supporting social enterprises; displaying diversity and equality in the workforce; promoting mental health awareness amongst employees; and developing and training apprentices.
Among the initiatives that have been introduced by the trio this year are the use of electric vehicles for surveyor visits, working with social enterprise Recycling Lives to support individuals with accommodation, education and training, and promoting the industry charity Lighthouse Club to provide staff with free and easy access to mental health support services.
They were were also commended for their commitment to apprentices to help secure the future of the sector.
