Understanding and leveraging data to improve the customer journey was the theme of the recent Home and Property Claims Conference, which took place at the CBS Arena, Coventry on 10 November.
Headline sponsored by WeatherNet along with Gold Sponsors Catalyst, Davies Group, Perfect Group, Rainbow International and Rhodar Homeworks and Silver Sponsors A3 Accommodation Connect, A3 Relocations Solutions, LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Polygon, QuestGates and SD Sealants, the event featured a series of presentations and panel debates with leading influencers in the home insurance sector.
It sought to understand the type of data available, how it can be leveraged to improve service and reduce environmental impact, while also considering how the supply chain can share data to add value.
Darren Rudd, Head of Business and Technology, UK Insurance, Vice President of CGI set the tone with an insightful presentation considering the range of data available and what problems it can solve, before Alan Soutar, Chairman, ILC Home and Property, hosted a panel debate that looked at the type of data that is produced, who it helps, and how the industry can keep it relevant.
Wayne Calderbank, Director of Data and Insight, WeatherNet UK, then delivered an compelling session that covered data strategy, the future of property claims and the influence of advanced analytics on the claims journey, before a second panel debate asked how best the information available can be used to streamline the customer journey.
After a networking lunch, Eloise Sochanik, Sustainability Lead, RSK Group, examined the role data can play in measuring environmental sustainability, before a final, far-reaching panel debate turned the focus on data within the supply chain and the benefits of partnerships.
Alan said, “What we’ve learned today is that the data is there and we should be able to use it and we need to start thinking about how we use it in the future, so thank you very much to everyone who contributed.”
ILC will return next March with a specialist event considering the subsidence surge.
