ILC’s wellbeing webinar – Rob Chilcott shares his thoughts


The last two months have been a blend of consolidation and innovation for Claims Consortium Group, helping both our people, our community, and the business navigate the uncertainty and restrictions while we find our new ‘normal’.

Regular communications have been at the heart of what we do. A weekly Zoom call hosted by the senior leadership team has been providing updates on the business and taking questions in a live environment from all staff. They have been very well received and will definitely carry on into the future.

Leaders have been holding regular team and 121 conversations with their people ensuring we stay close to all staff whether they are on furlough leave or working from home. We forget sometimes how much interaction we might have on a daily basis with our people when we are in the office and having team time on a Zoom or Teams call to see each other and connect is a fun way to maintain this.

It has been amazing to share and hear about the uplifting and compassionate stories of our people going the extra mile for our customers, neighbours and friends, as well as the great work some of our people have been doing to support the front line staff in all industries.

We have created a website www.loveourcommunity.co.uk with helpful hints, tips and tools on topics such as mental health, physical health and exercise, virtual working and leadership skills to help and support people on an individual level to create new and helpful routines.

A confidential helpline service was set up with our People & Culture team giving all staff the opportunity to reach out if they are having any worries, doubts or concerns that they didn’t want to raise through their leader. This has been an invaluable resource with regular calls coming in for a variety of reasons that we have been able to help with.

All the while the leadership team have been working tirelessly to find new, exciting and innovative ways of working as we ease gradually out of lockdown, from home working to new business opportunities.
