Copart drives forward with further training

Vehicle remarking and recycling experts Copart has announced that training has commenced at its new Driver Academy.

The Academy has been established to provide Copart with a conveyor belt of new drivers to support further expansion in vehicle collection and delivery capacity.

The three-month course, delivered in association with HGVC, aims to deliver 100 new fully trained drivers in the first year.

The first part of the course will see drivers shadowing a driver mentor, observing daily duties such as safe loading and unloading from multi-car transporters, before candidates will move to practical learning on Copart transports, with off-site tests and assessments.

Jane Pocock, Managing Director of Copart UK & Ireland, said, “I’m delighted that training is now underway for the first cohort of our Copart Driver Academy, ensuring that we continue to provide highly skilled and quality assured drivers across our fleet and representing a significant investment into our transport and logistics capabilities. Our Driver Academy is also an important aspect of our Copart Cares commitment to caring about our teammates, which includes providing a range of training and development opportunities for them to learn new skills, gain industry recognised qualifications, and receive progression opportunities within our business.”
