
Gelder Group has announced that it reduced its carbon emissions in 2022 in line with its vision of creating a sustainable future for the new generation in construction.
Independent sustainability certification body Planet Mark confirmed that Gelder Group reduced emissions by 1.8% across all activities.
CEO Steve Gelder MBE FCGI said, “We’ve been working hard to make our offices more energy efficient from installing new uPVC windows and doors and installing PIR sensors to communal areas for efficient lighting. I’m looking forward to seeing what we achieve in 2023.”
Meanwhile, underlining its ESG strategy, the group was named Highly Commended in the Workforce Development Award category at the UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) Excellence Awards.
David Ternent, Health & Safety Manager, said, “We are delighted to receive this accolade from UKATA, having recently become an accredited UKATA Training Centre we have demonstrated our commitment to our workforce and clients. Our new initiative ‘Asbestos Grab bags’ is yet another demonstration of our on-going commitment.”
Craig Evans, Chief Operating Officer of UKATA said, “This achievement recognises the achievements of Gelder Group and its workforce, who strive to protect workers and the public from the risks associated with asbestos exposure.”
