ABI welcomes FCA leaseholder building reforms
The Association of British Insurers has welcomed news that the FCA will introduce new measures to support leaseholders in the multi-occupancy buildings insurance market, but said the ‘ultimate solution is to remediate buildings to a standard that saves both lives and property and we urge government to progress this urgently.’

Fraudster faces payback bill
Serial fraudster Hamid Sediqi has been ordered to pay back £210,000 after orchestrating 62 fraudulent motor insurance claims. This follows proceedings brought by the City of London Police’s Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED).
Sediqi was jailed in 2021 and faces a further five years behind bars if he fails to meet repayments.
Belron shows charity spirit
Belron has announced that its annual charity event, the Spirit of Belron Challenge (SOBC), has raised £2.17m for its partner charity Afrika Tikkun.
More than 12,000 participants swam, cycled, ran, walked or travelled by wheelchair to raise money for the charity.

A Freedom of Information request by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has revealed that tool theft from vans has risen by 33% since 2020.
