ILC sets standard with exclusive ‘Future Look’

ILC’s inaugural Exclusive Motor Claims Conference has been hailed a huge success after some of the industry’s leading influencers met at the prestigious Landing FortyTwo in London on 7 October to share insights, exchange ideas and develop new relationships.

The event included a spectacular line-up of speakers from across the industry, discussing the day’s most pressing topics, such as understanding data, evolving market dynamics, legislative reforms, and the many moving parts the need to fit together to provide a seamless motor claims journey.

Evolving

Providing guests with an insightful ‘Future Look’, the event revealed that while the industry is evolving quicker than anyone imagined and in ways that could not have been predicted, the expertise and determination exists to respond positively to these challenges and shape the future into one which offers opportunity for business while at the same time serving the customer better, quicker and more conveniently.

Among the guest speakers were Tom Helm, Head of Claims Consulting, Willis Towers Watson; and Stuart Lakin, Head of Partnerships and Ian James, Team Principal, Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team; while Adrian Furness CEO of Covea Insurance, provided a fascinating keynote interview, talking about his upbringing and introduction to insurance.

Approach

He revealed how his first job at Endsleigh Insurance shaped his approach to insurance to this day.

He said, “They had this amazing culture at the time that was all about recruiting young people, empowering them, and enjoying what you do. They wanted to present insurance as something other than a male, pale, stale industry, and that has really stayed with me.”

Adrian who has been at Covea for 26 years now, said it was the same positive culture that he first experienced at Endsleigh that has kept him engaged.

He said, “We are a community, not just a business. We have gone through so many changes but we have always kept that thread of creating opportunities for people. We have a desire and commitment to create careers for people; one of my directors started as a graduate and worked up, someone else joined us as 18 and is now our customer director. Working with these people keeps you fresh.”

Support

ILC would like to offer special thanks to headline sponsor Enterprise Rent-a-Car, whose ongoing support helped to make the day such a triumph.

ILC would also like to thank event sponsors eBay, Solera Audatex and Synetiq, as well as corporate partners AkzoNobel, Autoglass, CAPS, Carpenters Group, Copart, Davies Group, e2e Total Loss Vehicle Management, Entegral, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, GT Motive, Hills Green Parts Specialists, IAA, Innovation Group, S&G Response, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, ThingCo and Verisk.

Full details of the event will be released in the coming week.
