Specialist EV event to set new standards

Understanding the impact of electric vehicles (EVs) will be taken to the next level at a groundbreaking event hosted by ARC360 next month.

Titled ‘The EV-olution’ the event takes place at the Manufacturing Technology Centre, Coventry, on 4 July, and will bring together experts from across the sector to consider the rapid growth of EVs and how the technology is reforming the repair and motor claims landscape.

The specialist event will bring together insurers, VMs, and the UK’s leading repairers to consider everything from FNOL, repair capabilities, cost inflation, skillset requirements, health & safety, repairability, replacement vehicles and end-of-life vehicle management.

Setting the EV scene, Derren Martin, Director of Valuations, cap hpi, and Paul Sell, Director, Trend Tracker, will discuss vehicle market intelligence and provide a forensic repair sector insight, before Adrian Watson, Head of Engineering Research at Thatcham Research and Dean Lander, Head of Repair Sector Services, Thatcham Research, will consider the technical elements of safe EV management and repair.

They will be followed on stage by Jeff Mack, Alternative Fuel Consultant, JMC/NWVA; Vic Turner, CEO of Activate Accident Repair and COO of Activate Group; and Franco Iannotta, Bodyshop Development Manager, VWG for a session entitled ‘Managing EVs in the Real World’, before Dave Sargeant, Managing Director, Gemini; Erika Woollacott, Managing Director, Fix Auto Devon; and Gio Adamo, Senior Engineer, Zego Insurance, address the real world aspects of EV repair.

Maria Loukadaki, motor repair specialist – future technology specialist, Direct Line Group and Chris Payne, Head of Networks & Engineering, LV= Insurance, will then discuss EVs from insurer perspective, before Raul Yustesepulveda, Global Account Manager – Battery Recycling, BASF; Adam Thurman, Managing Director, EV Bodyshops; and James Allenby, Managing Director, The Novo Group, provide an insight into what an EV future might involve.

Aligning with the transformative influence of electrification, the event will conclude with a special Q&A with all the speakers, building on the interactive approach that will inform the whole day via delegate engagement.

The event is sponsored by Thatcham Research and ControlExpert, along with ARC360 Corporate Partners and Partners.
