Zurich shows support for New Generation event

Zurich Insurance Group has shown its support for ILC’s New Generation in Claims event by both sponsoring the occasion and contributing expert insight to the day’s agenda.

The event, which takes place on Wednesday 26 April at etc.venues, Manchester sees Zurich join Enterprise and Wiser Academy (headline) as sponsors to help shine a light on the need for both retaining talent and attracting new people within the insurance claims sector.

Central to Zurich are its people, underpinned by its ‘it matters that people believe they matter’ mantra. This is supported by its desire to create a work environment where people can feel engaged, inspired, energized – and want to work for Zurich.

Sharna Thomson, Head of Customer, UK Claims, Zurich commented: “We are so pleased to be partnering on such an important topic; attracting and retaining talent is key to the success of any business.

“In Zurich UK, we take a multifaceted approach to this, using 80% of our apprenticeship levy compared to just 44% across most other UK businesses. This is not just for early in careers, it also enables us to create a sustainable workforce by enabling longstanding employees to train and upskill for current and future roles. We also offer all advertised roles on a part time, job share of flexible working basis. This has really helped to shift the dial for us with a 95% increase in female part time workers.

“To be able share our ideas and experiences across the industry in a forum such as this will be so valuable.”

ILC’s New Generation in Claims event is set to unpick the current state of talent acquisition and retention across the sector, highlight the likely future skillsets within claims, and provide insight as to the opportunities that exist when people, strategy and technology align.

The day’s agenda will support attendees to understand what factors are at play influencing talent recruitment, retention and upskilling; how people challenges can influence positive change across business; and crucially discuss the skills requirements within claims for the future.

The event is for anyone involved in the insurance claims sector providing any function of HR, recruitment, and training, as well as operational team leaders.
