Working with Vulnerable People 2019

As a keen advocate of improving knowledge and understanding within the claims industry,  ILC organised a focus group back in January 2018. The key focus was the often overlooked but hugely important category – ‘Vulnerable Customers’.

Attended by a diverse group of Insurers and Suppliers from the Home Claims Industry, the event identified 2 key things:

• A lack of understanding of what is meant by a ‘Vulnerable Person’
• That without the right skills and training, these people can be experiencing a service that does not adequately meet their needs

We therefore decided to host a range of workshops dealing with important topics within the industry. ‘Working with Vulnerable People’ was the first one day workshop event and was facilitated by the Independent Safeguarding Commission.

The event took place on 9th January 2018 at the Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum, and was an ideal opportunity for attendees to increase their knowledge and understanding of this important area whilst networking with industry colleagues.
