We’ve got lots of exciting things in store including exclusive entertainment and giveaways throughout the day and a star turn from our celebrity guest speaker Chris Kamara designed to inspire and entertain.

Guest Speaker: Chris Kamara

Chris ‘Kammy’ Kamara was born in Middlesbrough on 25th December 1957 and is of Sierra Leonean, English and Irish descent.

In his career as a professional footballer Kammy played for: Portsmouth, Swindon Town, Portsmouth, Brentford, Swindon Town, Stoke City, Leeds United, Luton Town, Sheffield United, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, and Bradford City playing over 650 games.

After finishing playing he had two spells as a manager at Bradford City winning promotion via the 1996 Play-off Finals, and at Stoke City.

After management, a career in the media followed and Kammy can be seen weekly presenting Sky Sports’ Goals On Sunday show and providing additional commentary on some of Sky’s televised matches. In 2015 Kammy first hosted ITV’s Ninja Warrior UK.

He also appears on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday programme, where he usually appears over live video link providing brief updates on whichever match he is watching. He is well-known on the programme for his highly excitable nature, propensity for comical gaffes and tendency to come out with unusual sayings that baffle host Jeff Stelling and the other studio pundits.

In one of his more famous on-air gaffes, he failed to realise that Anthony Vanden Borre had been sent off in the game he was watching between Portsmouth and Blackburn. He has also coined the popular phrase “Unbelievable Jeff!”.

An iconic event venue in Covent Garden

Standing on Great Queen Street, that connects Covent Garden with Holborn in the West End of London, is the Grade II* listed De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms. With a history dating back to 1775, the building has long been an important event venue, and was once home to the original Freemasons’ Tavern before becoming a hotel in 1909.

Since then, the venue has hosted some of the world‘s leading politicians, royalty and celebrities with its grand Georgian architecture and art-deco interiors offering 37 exceptional spaces for a wide range of conferences, exhibitions, meetings, training and weddings.

Arched ornate ceilings, beautiful wood-panelling and dramatic chandeliers, the Grand Hall creates an impressive event space for up to 750 guests theatre style and 1,500 guests for a drinks reception.  For smaller events, there are a number of executive rooms, often with original features and oak-panelling, whilst a suite of modern training rooms is also available. Outside, on the 5th floor, an exclusive roof terrace, with views of the city, is available for summer parties and receptions.
