ARC360’s specialist electric vehicle (EV) event is set to discuss the known-unknowns for the vehicle incident repair sector as the vehicle parc transitions to an electric future.
FNOL, repair capabilities, cost inflation, skillset requirements, health & safety, repairability, replacement vehicles and end-of-life vehicle management will be just some of the key topics to come under the spotlight on Tuesday 4 July at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry.
The event – which features experts from across the vehicle incident repair supply chain and beyond including data providers, engineers, insurers, repairers, recovery operators, recyclers, training providers and VMs – bids to join the dots and understand just what implications EVs will have on the well-established operations across the sector and, ultimately, the customer.
Not only will the event provide an up-to-the minute insight into the growing pool of evidence and experience gleaned within the sector – including input from all in attendance via audience interaction – but so too will it touch upon the future to understand just where the industry might be in five to 10 years’ time.

With over 35 years in the industry and twenty of those at Volkswagen Group UK doing various different aftersales roles. I currently manage the VWG UK Approved Repairer Network since 2021.
I am excited to be part of this ever evolving industry and especially at a time when drivetrain technology, electrification and autonomous driving is at the forefront of our growth strategy and having the ability to restoring these cars back to a high standard has never been more important.

Jeff Mack started his career in accident repair on the shop floor back in 1975. Previously, he has been responsible for Mazda, Renault, Toyota and Honda’s UK bodyshop networks. He has also served as head of bodyshop services and vehicle recovery at the RMI.
Now he is head of Jeff Mack Consultancy (JMC), an independent consultancy to the motor industry. He wears many hats, one of which is as a national account manager for Nationwide Vehicle Recovery Assistance heading up NWVA’s EV preparedness campaign for the UK recovery industry.
JMC is currently working in association with Richard Baker of Park Lodge International (which offers its clients across 4 continents—including armed services, civil emergency services and multi-national global companies—fire safety advice and training) and RWC Training. Together they are working with UK motor manufacturers, accident management companies, insurance assessors, vehicle accident examiners, fire and police services, recovery and salvage operators, bodyshop networks, the NBRA and the IMI to provide the most comprehensive and up-to-date training in the vehicle structure, safety risks, and corresponding safe procedures required to deal with the assessment, recovery, transportation, storage and repair of alternatively fuelled vehicles.
The training they offer is light-years ahead of anything else now available, and includes what to do when an EV, FCV or LGV has been in a road traffic collision and the situation is as critical as it can be, including the worst-case scenario involving traction battery thermal runaway—how to definitively tell when that scenario is possible, probable, or imminent and the correct steps to take and NOT take in each instance, be you a first responder, recovery agent, investigator, examiner, assessor, or repairer.
Jeff lives in south Lincolnshire with his wife of 20 years, Linda, and his two very spoiled dogs. He tries his wife’s patience with his love of Arsenal FC but redeems himself with his love of gardening.
